Don't panic!
I'm going to be in the hospital for a few days, to finally kick this cold. My one healthy day turned out to be a fluke - by the next day, all the original symptoms were back, as strong as the first day.
The antibiotics they gave me before obviously knocked it down, but not out. To get stronger antibiotics, you have to be in a hospital to get them from an IV.
So, though this sounds like a scary turn of events, I'm really no worse than I've been for the last 7 days. I'm just really sick and tired of being sick and tired.
The hospital I picked, Apollo Hospital, is supposed to be the best private one in Delhi. They were the first (and maybe only) hospital in India to be accredited in the US. What I've seen so far suggests it's as nice as Stanford, though a heck of a lot bigger.
As to what this means to my travel plans, I'm not sure yet. I don't expect to have the energy for my usual style of travel anytime soon, so it's quite possible I may try to find a nice beach to relax on in Thailand for a while, and see where I go from there.
I still want to see lots more of India (I've really only had 2 good days of exploring), but if I'm not at 100%, I don't have any business being here.
